Spike Jumper
Spike Jumper is a side-scrolling platformer built from generated sections: spike strips, gaps, raised blocks, floating stone ledges and spike blocks that slam up and down. You get three lives, and each checkpoint flag moves your respawn point forward.

How to Play
You control running and jumping yourself, and there is no double jump, so each leap has to be judged from the ground.
- Start with Space, Enter or the Start Game button.
- Run with ArrowLeft/A and ArrowRight/D or the arrow buttons. The view follows you forward, but you can't walk back past its left edge.
- Jump with Space, ArrowUp or W, the jump button, or a tap on the game. Hold for full height and release early for a shorter hop.
- Clear spike strips and gaps, climb over raised blocks, and use floating stone ledges to cross wide gaps.
- Time your run under the spiked blocks that move up and down along a dotted track.
- Touch each flag to set a checkpoint. The hearts next to the score show your remaining lives.
Game Objective
Get as far to the right as you can. Your score is the furthest distance you have reached plus 50 points for every checkpoint flag you touch. Losing a life sends you back to the last checkpoint, but it never lowers your furthest distance, so progress you've made is kept.
Touching a spike, getting hit by a spike block or falling into a gap costs one life. When the third life is gone, the run ends.
Tips
- After a hit you respawn at the last flag with about a second and a half of invulnerability while your character blinks. Use it to get past whatever hazard sits right after the checkpoint.
- Moving spike blocks spend most of each cycle high up and touch the ground only briefly. Walk under them instead of jumping: even at the top of its track, a block is low enough for a full jump to hit it.
- Jump height is variable. Tap for narrow spike strips so you land sooner and have time to react, and save full-height jumps for gaps and tall blocks.
- Raised blocks are solid, so you can stand on them. Blocks with spikes on top need to be cleared completely or crossed by landing beside the spikes.
- Spike hitboxes ignore the top 30 percent of each spike and a fifth of its width on each side, so a jump that only clips a tip still gets through.
Difficulty
Difficulty: Difficulty: Hard
Spike Jumper is rated Hard because it demands precise ground jumps with no mid-air correction and mixes hazards that each need different timing. Over roughly the first 3,000 points of distance, spike strips get wider, gaps grow from about 70–110 units to 100–150, raised blocks are more likely to carry spikes, floating-ledge crossings get longer, and spike blocks cycle faster (a full up-and-down trip drops from about 2.4–2.8 seconds to 1.6–2.0). Spike-block sections also turn up more often after the first 600 or so points. Three lives and checkpoints soften mistakes, but lives never refill during a run.

Spike Jumper FAQ
How many lives do I have?
Three. Each hit or fall costs one life and returns you to the last checkpoint flag you touched. Lives are not restored during a run.
Do I lose points when I die?
No. Your score is the furthest point you've reached plus 50 per checkpoint, so respawning never takes points away.
Is there a double jump in Spike Jumper?
No, you have a single jump. Holding the jump input longer makes it higher, and releasing early makes it shorter.
Can I play on a touchscreen?
Yes. Use the on-screen left, right and jump buttons under the game. Tapping the game area also jumps.
